Alexus Johnson est partie, périple de deux jours et témoignage sincère
Le coronavirus se propage dans le monde et chacun se calfeutre chez soi. Les mesures se durcissent au fur et à mesure que la courbe des hospitalisations et des décès augmente. A Limoges, la vie s’est arrêtée. Presque. Car les soignants, les personnes ressources et mobilisés pour l’intérêt général ou les entreprises autorisées continuent à travailler, dans l’ombre ou pas. Alexus nous a contacté samedi matin pour quitter Limoges. En pleine tempête sanitaire, quasi suppression des trains, raréfaction des avions, blocus divers, il a fallu gérer et assurer. Non sans mal, Alexus est arrivée à Paris hier lundi et elle est dans l’avion ce mardi, depuis 7h et jusqu’au bout de la journée pour rejoindre Houston. Ce périple a été compliqué mais notre américaine nous a fait un beau cadeau. Le selfie – à Roissy Charles de Gaulle – et un petit texte aussi agréable que juste, incluant un bel hommage à notre (son) coach Régis. Quand beaucoup n’ont plus de patience et cèdent devant les difficultés, nous avons continué à renforcer les liens, à respecter les personnes. Alexus Johnson peut partir tranquille rejoindre sa famille et sa maman qui l’attend. L’urgence est bonne santé ! Nous vous laissons découvrir son message, texte original.

To my teammates coaches and staff of Limoges ABC.
I would like to say thank you for the opportunity to play for and with you guys. Although the season may not have ended the way we wanted, I have grown to be a better person on and off the court and to my beautiful teammates especially I love all of you and I wish you nothing but the best going forward and thank you for being patient with me while I went through growing pains throughout the year. Coach Régis you have been one if not the most impactful coach I have ever played for I appreciate you taking the time to understand me when others told you I wasn’t worth the time. I wish the season could’ve gone better for us and I wish I could’ve been a better leader for you. There were several times that I doubted myself as a player and my ability to play on this level and the next but you were always there to quiet the storm in my mind. You have taught me how to run an offense and elevated my IQ. I looked forward to learning from you everyday and as a basketball player looking to perfect their craft that’s all you can ask for in a coach. I hope I didn’t drive you too crazy because I would love to play for you again. I also would like to thank the beautiful people of Limoges for supporting us through this year of building and making Limoges feel like home for me.
